I’m terrible at using curly quotes, I often just use the straight double mark (Shift + ‘). Naughty me.
Here’s the keyboard commands to do it correctly on the Mac:
- Alt + ] = single curly quote ( ‘ )
- Alt + Shift + ]= single curly quote ( ’ )
- Alt + [ = an opening double curly quote ( “ )
- Alt + Shift + [ = a closing double curly quote ( ” )
